Introduction

With the "Signature - Settings", you can view and configure the properties of a signature (see the image below). To access the properties dialog box of a signature, please right click on the corresponding signature node in the Solution Explorer and select "Properties" menu entry.

The "Signature - Settings" dialog box is a standard form used for the Signature without realisation, ProcedureSignature, ScreenSignature and DeviceSignature.

Standard properties

The standard "Signature - Settings" dialog box consists of the following controls:

  • The "Name" text box:
Here you can change the name of the signature.
Exclamation.png  Note that the name should conform to the OTX Naming Conventions and the name must be unique throughout all global identifiers defined in the same OTX document.
  • The "Description" (or Specification) area:
Here you can set the description for the signature. Hover the mouse over the signature in the Solution Explorer, you will see the description as a tooltip. The description is optional, you can skip it.
  • The "Visibility" radio buttons:
Here you can set the Visibility attribute for the signature.

Special cases

ProcedureSignature - Settings

In the dialog box of a procedure signature, you will find the "More/Less" button which enables you to display (or hide) the ECU Group section. In this section, you can add one or more ECU Groups for the procedure signature. The first ECU Group in the list will determine the DiagCom characteristics (see also ODX Access Path). To hide the section, click on the "Less" button.

DeviceServiceSignature - Settings

A device signature can contains many device service signatures. One device service signature has a dialog box with similar properties like the other signatures, but it only consists of the "Name" text box and the "Description" (or Specification) area.
