OtfInstallation

The following section describes the installation of the OTF and the necessary components of the installation.

	Please note that the necessary rights for installation (e.g. administrator rights) must be available on your computer!
	Please refer to the System Requirements and possibly install the DotNet Framework 4.0 before installing the OTF (Windows 10 note: The DotNet Framework 4.6 (also 3.5, 3.0 and 2.0) is already integrated in the system but you still need to check the system settings before installing the OTF).

Preparation

Before starting the installation, we recommend that you download the latest version from our license portal. Please use your credentials to log in to your account of our LICENSE PORTAL.

To download the installer, you need to login at our license portal, see Login. Please contact us if you do not have an account.

Open Test Framework installation

Please install the OTF as follows:

1. Download and run the latest version of the installation files from our website, see above.
2. Close the OTF, if necessary.
3. Start the installer.
4. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
5. Install the supplied diagnostic runtime system if necessary.
6. Start the OTF.
7. Activate the OTF, see Activation.
8. Familiarize yourself with the OTF, see Getting Started section.

Open Test Framework with included VW-MCD installation

Please install the OTF as follows:

1. Download and run the latest version of the installation files from our website, see above.
2. Close the OTF, if necessary.
3. Start the installer.
4. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
5. Restart the computer!
6. Start the OTF.
7. Activate the OTF, see Activation.
8. Familiarize yourself with the OTF, see Getting Started section.

DotNet Framework 4.0 installation

If the DotNet Framework 4.0 is not already installed on your computer (this installation can be skipped in Windows 10, see section below), please proceed as follows:

1. Download the installer.
2. Close all running applications.
3. Start the installer.
4. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.

DotNet Framework Configuration for Windows 10

Please check the Windows Features before installing the OTF

1. Click the Start button.
2. Type Windows Features.
3. Select Turn Windows feature on or off.
4. If prompted, click Yes or enter the administrator password.
5. Confirm if the check box for .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 4.6 Advanced Services is selected.
6. If the both items are already checked, then click Cancel and you can skip the next steps and install OTF immediately.
7. If one of the 2 items (or both of them) is not enabled, ctick the check box, and then click OK.
8. Select Download files from Windows Update
9. When it has completed, click Close.
